é The Church of Our Lady before Týn was founded in the middle of the 14th century. It has two towers 80 meters high and between them a vast late Gothic gable decorated with a statue of the Virgin Mary. Inside the church is the tomb of the Danish astronomer Tychon Brahe who lived at the court of Emperor Rudolph II.

é The Town Hall of the Old Town was founded in 1338. It is composed of several buildings: The Gothic tower is part of the oldest of the Town Hall houses. é The Town Hall horologe was made in 1410 by the clockmaker Mikuláš of Kadaň and the astronomer Jan Šindel.

é The Church of St. Nicholas in the Old Town Square was originally a Gothic church, but was rebuilt in high baroque style by K. I. Dientzenhofer in 1732-35. The side facade of the church is richly decorated and gives the impression that the main entrance is there.

é The Old-New synagogue is one of the oldest synagogues that have been preserved in Europe. It was built in 1270-1280. The Jewish Town Hall was built in the 16th century, but was given its present rococo appearance by rebuilding in 1763. There are two clocks on the tower: one with a Roman clock-face, the other - better known - has Hebrew numbers and the hands turn "anti-clockwise".

é The Old Jewish cemetery was founded in the first half of the 15th century. There are some 12.000 late Gothic, Renaissance and baroque gravestones there. The most visited tomb is that of the renowned rabbi Low - a religious philosopher, teacher and scientist, whose name is wreathed in legend (1520-1609).
